The goal of Al-Yad Guild is to have fun in fellowship, in an honorable manner, playing a role in the world of EQ2. The Al-Yad Guild is a Qeynos aligned All Races, All Classes Guild on the Antonia Bayle server.

The Al-Yad is a Guild of players in the EQ2 community.

Fun: The goal of having fun is based on the ideas that if it is not fun, don¿t do it. The members of the Al-Yad Guild are paying to play this game, if it is not fun for the player to be part of the guild they should not be part of it. It is better to leave than to be miserable. Play should be that, play, and not a chore. In the end, always remember EQ2 is a game, that Al-Yad is a club. We are here for fun, not stress; and play, not work.

Fellowship: There are thousands of other players in EQ2. It is designed for players to interact and cooperate with each other. In fact, many challenges cannot be done solo. Members of the Al-Yad guild are dedicated to experiencing EQ2 together, to maximize each other¿s enjoyment and success.

Honor: The Al-Yad guild is a heroic guild. By being a guild of good and honor, we encourage honorable behavior and will not tolerate behavior that threatens the enjoyment of others. Stealing, lying, griefing, and insulting are not tolerated against anyone, in or out of the guild. Some dramatic license is allowed for role-playing, but should be put in a limited context and both sides must be aware of the intent. We also fully support the Code of Conduct of EQ2.

Playing a Role: Instead of thinking EQ2 as nothing more than an arcade game where you and your friends kill monsters and earn loot, we encourage you to learn what you can of the history of the world, to come up with a back story of your character, in short develop your character and try to consistently play within that framework.

It has been said that EQ2 is more than an arcade game. Imagination and adventure are keys to enjoyment, rather than the simple monster-fighting, loot-gathering experience it can become.

Al-Yad is a role-playing encouraged Guild. It is understandable that some people are slow typers and need to shorten their English language to get ideas across during a quest. But outside of battle, around a tavern, everyone is encouraged to slide into their character shoes and spend some extra time typing the full words, using emotes that game designers gave you instead of "smileys",":Lol", or "omg"
That being said, you cannot tell someone how to play the game. The first rule of Al-Yad is "this should be fun." Role-playing is what makes this game fun for most of us, and to fully support that idea those who take on leadership roles within Al-Yad are strongly encouraged to role-play as much as possible. This is to encourage those who look up to the leadership to emulate this hard habit.

Qeynos aligned All Races, All Classes (ARAC): Nothing hurts more than to have a meeting in the one city and because you choose a Dark Elf, you cannot attend. All Races and all Classes are welcomed, but I ask that since Qeynos will be our home base that you find your way to attend meetings in our home area before joining.

On the Antonia Bayle server: It's even more frustrating than not even being to play with fellow members so based on the fact that we are a role-playing encouraged guild that we exist on the Role-playing preferred server, Antonia Bayle.
